HYROX Lyon 2026: Dates & Info

Lyon finally enters the HYROX circuit. From May 20 to 24, 2026, Eurexpo will host the first Lyon edition – five days of racing, thousands of athletes, and a significant timing: it's the ultimate French stage before the World Championships in Stockholm (June 18-21, 2026).

Why Lyon, Why Now?

HYROX continues to expand its network across France. After Nice in February, Toulouse in March, and Paris at the Grand Palais in April, Lyon will conclude the French spring season. The city ticks all the boxes: third-largest urban area in the country, a dense hybrid fitness ecosystem (Lyon, Villeurbanne, Saint-Étienne), easy logistical access from the entire southern half of France, and a rapidly growing Hyrox community.

Eurexpo: A Venue Tailor-Made for HYROX

Eurexpo is the largest exhibition center in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. For HYROX, this means vast halls, high ceilings, and most importantly, a potentially fast and flowing course – no tight turns or constrained layouts like those seen at some more cramped venues. If you're aiming for a PR on your time, Lyon should be a good track.

Practical Logistics

  • Parking: Free on-site, several thousand spaces (A clear advantage compared to urban venues like the Grand Palais or Porte de Versailles).
  • Tramway: Line T5, Eurexpo stop, from Grange Blanche (Metro D connection from Part-Dieu).
  • Road Access: A43 exit, all signs are clearly marked nearby.
  • Changing Rooms & Showers: Available on-site.
  • Catering: Food zones available on-site during the event.

Where to Stay, Where to Train Before Race Day

Two approaches depending on your profile:

  • For logistical convenience: Hotels in the immediate vicinity of Eurexpo (Chassieu, Saint-Priest, Bron). Quiet in the evening, but 5 minutes from the starting line. Ideal if you're racing early in the morning.
  • For atmosphere: Vieux-Lyon, Confluence, Croix-Rousse. Take the T5 tram in the morning (allow 30-40 minutes from Part-Dieu, plus a safety margin). In the evening, you can enjoy Lyon's famous 'bouchons' (traditional restaurants) – for post-race recovery, it's unbeatable.

For the final weeks of prep, Lyon offers a concentration of some of the best HYROX and CrossFit® gyms in France. Notably, O2 Training Club (Lyon's first 100% HYROX gym, an official Hyrox Training Club affiliate – with priority access for registrations), and several historic CrossFit® boxes in Lyon and Villeurbanne.

Event Practical Information
