New Driathlon World Record (ski/bike/row)
Ireland's Aaron Travers has shattered the Driathlon world record with a score of 1540 calories (I'll explain what that means in a moment).
What is Driathlon?
Driathlon is an erg triathlon (ski/bike/row) very popular in the UK, featuring an annual competition with different rounds, much like the CrossFit® Games.
The principle: complete 20 minutes per erg with a 2-minute break between each erg. The score is based not on distance or pace, but on the total number of calories.
Performance Details: 1540 Calories
Aaron thus broke the world record for the discipline, outside of competition, achieving the following scores:
Total: 1540 calories
- 20 mins Ski-erg - 490 calories
- 20 mins Bike-erg - 546 calories
- 20 mins Row-erg - 504 calories
In terms of pace, this translates to:
- Ski-erg: 1'41/500m
- Bike-erg: 1'36/1000m or 395 watts
- Row-erg: 1'40/500m

Aaron Travers: An Exceptional Athlete Profile
But Aaron doesn't limit his training to ergs, as he is first and foremost a Hyroxer. He has completed 18 Hyrox races since 2024, with a pro solo record of 56'25 in Glasgow in 2025.
He also has the particularity of weighing 110kg. This didn't stop him from running at an average pace of 3'44 during his Hyrox record.
Where to Practice and Follow Driathlon?
If you're also interested in this erg triathlon format, you can check out upcoming dates across the Channel on the official website: https://www.driathlon.co.uk/.
The format also exists in France under a different concept; the first event took place in January in Paris, the next will be in June, and a 3rd event is planned for the end of the year in the south of France (location and date not yet revealed).
